Let’s Talk About Spectacular!

By Daniel – Founder, Laudatory Life

Okay, real talk:

When was the last time something made you stop and say, “Whoa… that was spectacular”?

Not just “nice,” or “pretty good,” or “okay-I-guess.” I’m talking about the kind of moment that feels like a surprise party for your brain. Like a double rainbow. Or finding money in your jeans. Or the first sip of coffee that’s exactly the right temperature. You know — spectacular.

Here at Laudatory Life, we’re a little obsessed with that feeling. And not just because it sounds fancy (though let’s be honest, “spectacular” is a five-star word). It’s because we believe spectacular things are hiding all around us — waiting to be noticed, praised, and maybe even high-fived.

What Counts as Spectacular? (Spoiler: More Than You Think)

Sure, fireworks are spectacular. So is the Grand Canyon. So is Beyoncé.

But so is:

  • Your dog tilting its head when you say “treat.”
  • Your morning going smoothly and your shirt being stain-free.
  • Someone complimenting your T-shirt. (Especially if it’s one of ours. Just sayin’.)
  • That one friend who texts you memes at exactly the right moment.

Spectacular isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s soft, subtle, and sipping tea from a mug that says something like “You’re Doing Amazing, Sweetie.”

5 Ways to Make Life More Spectacular (Without Spending $5,000 on a Hot Air Balloon Ride)

1. Get Out of Bed Like a Boss

Start the day with intention. Or at least with coffee. Bonus points if you drink it from a mug that makes you grin like an idiot. We’ve got a few that do just that. Trust us.

2. Dress Like You Like Yourself

You don’t need a stylist. Just throw on a shirt that makes you feel like your best self — whether that’s confident, calm, or just comfy as heck. (And if it happens to say something laudatory, even better.)

3. Compliment Recklessly

Tell someone their laugh is contagious. That their presentation slapped. That their eyebrows are doing God’s work. Praise is free, fun, and makes people feel 1000% more awesome. Be generous with it.

4. Romanticize the Boring Stuff

Folding laundry? Light a candle. Doing dishes? Play a soundtrack from a dramatic movie and pretend you’re in a soap opera. Writing to-do lists? Use a fancy notebook. (We happen to know where you can get one.)

5. Celebrate Like You Mean It

Did you finally answer that one email? Put on your “Spectacular Human” tee and do a victory dance. Life’s too short to only celebrate the big stuff. Small wins deserve parades, too. Even if it’s just a solo dance party in your kitchen.

Our Secret Agenda (Not So Secret Now)

Look, I didn’t start Laudatory Life just to sell mugs and shirts — though yes, we do sell mugs and shirts and they are ridiculously good at making people smile. I started it because I was tired of the endless meh. Tired of scrolling through negativity. Tired of good people doing good things and getting no shout-outs.

This brand? It’s about changing that. It’s about noticing. About pointing out the awesome stuff in ourselves, each other, and the world — and saying, “Hey, that’s spectacular. More of that, please.”

Final Thought (Before You Go Do Something Spectacular)

You don’t need to climb a mountain or win an award to feel amazing. You just need to pay attention. Praise more. Laugh often. Choose mugs and shirts that make your heart happy. Build your life like it’s a celebration — not a checklist.

And remember:

The spectacular isn’t rare.

It’s just waiting for someone like you to notice it.

Stay shiny,

Daniel
